Canadian LGBT Model Jeff
Another set of images that I almost forgot about. These would be the first set I ever took of an ‘amateur beefcake’ model. I can’t believe I forgot about these. Honestly I don’t even remember how we ended up meeting Jeff. I think I had an ad posted online looking for models. From what I remember my friend and I met him at a nearby bar to interview him. That’s why there is a picture of him at the bar.
My photographer friend had a studio. However, he didn’t think it would be appropriate or professional to bring a model over there to shoot beefcake photos. In retrospect a studio isn’t really the best place to photograph these types of pictures. That environment isn’t very comfortable.. lots of bright lights and noisy distractions.
Jeff invited me and my friend over to his apartment to do these pictures. He was just doing these pictures for himself he said. He had been going to the gym lately and wanted to show off his results. That was his reasoning anyway. I have a feeling that he was kinda interested in my friend. He spent most of the time talking to him and not me.. which was fine. I was really more nervous about doing my first photo shoot.
First Beefcake Photos
These pictures we taken in his own bedroom.. so that’s why he was really relaxed. The bedroom had it’s own ensuite bathroom.. so we took some pictures in there as well.
For this shoot I think we took the better part of the afternoon. I think mostly because it turned out that even though we had never met him before.. we all had a lot in common. I guess you could call is Queer in Common.
Jeff was a very good model. And even though my pictures didn’t turn out as great as they could have .. he was so easy to work with. It was more like spending time with a new friend.
Unfortunately, shortly after we took these pictures.. he moved away to New York City. So even though we made a new friend it wasn’t for very long.
