Since 1971,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There used to be <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_LGBTQ_periodicals#Out_of_print_4\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_LGBTQ_periodicals#Out_of_print_4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gay Newspapers <\/a>that you could pick up at the bar. Most were bi-weekly.. some monthly and a few were weekly. They had articles related to the queer community.. but the fun was at the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lots of classified ads.. everything from escorts to tax services you would find it. It was good because if you wanted to support lets say a queer travel agency you could find it there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another feature that they had was missed connections. Before cellphones you might see a guy at the mall and flirt and me might flirt back.. But you didn&#8217;t have any hook up apps so you only had the papers.
