There used to be Gay Newspapers that you could pick up at the bar. Most were bi-weekly.. some monthly and a few were weekly. They had articles related to the queer community.. but the fun was at the back.
Lots of classified ads.. everything from escorts to tax services you would find it. It was good because if you wanted to support lets say a queer travel agency you could find it there.
Another feature that they had was missed connections. Before cellphones you might see a guy at the mall and flirt and me might flirt back.. But you didn’t have any hook up apps so you only had the papers. Make you wonder how many possible relationships that never were.
